The USDA Southeast Regional Climate Hub and University of Florida will sponsor a workshop, "Building Agricultural Resilience to Hurricanes: Before, During, and After," in Gainesville, FL, on November 15. The workshop will focus on adaptation practices that increase resiliency to hurricanes in nursery/horticulture, row crop, and livestock/grazing land systems. Workshop participants will learn about hurricane impacts on the different commodity groups, and management practices to reduce risk. Participants will also have an opportunity to share their own experiences and lessons learned from previous hurricanes during organized group discussions. Visit the workshop website for details.
