Biography of Adam Alsamadisi

Adam AlsamadisiAdam Alsamadisi joined the Eastern Threat Center as an ORISE (Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education) Postdoctoral Research Fellow in 2020. His research interests include environmental modeling, landscape ecology, biogeography, GIScience, voluntary geographic information, and lidar applications in forestry. His current research focuses on scenario planning and decision analysis for shared stewardship, and understanding drivers of changing forest dynamics through spatial data analysis. Adam received his B.A. from Rhodes College and completed his M.S. and Ph.D. in the Department of Geography at the University of Tennessee. While completing his graduate education, Adam also served as a teaching associate for undergraduate Geography classes, taught in a K-12 context, and led GIS research focused on issues in human and physical geography.
