Biography of Sarah Wiener

Sarah Wiener is the Fellow for the Southeast Regional Climate Hub (SERCH). She is in charge of researching how climate information is communicated to land management professionals and land managers in the southeastern United States. Sarah joined the Eastern Threat Center in January 2014, initially as the Template for Assessing Climate Change Impacts and Management Options (TACCIMO) Content Manager and then as the Program Coordinator for SERCH. Sarah completed her MSc in Forestry at North Carolina State University. Her research was based on surveys she administered in Mpumalanga, South Africa, addressing rural livelihoods and how generational differences contribute to shifting woodland utilization. Sarah graduated from the Honors Program at Iona College with a BA in International Studies, where she excelled as a Division I volleyball player. She spent most of her childhood in Houston, TX, but has lived in 8 states and 5 countries. Now in Raleigh, Sarah enjoys travel and all forms of outdoor recreation.
