Biography of Alyson East
Alyson East joined the Eastern Threat Center as an ORISE (Oak Ridge Institute of Science and Education) Post-Master’s Research Fellow in 2023. Her current research at the Threat Center involves developing and evaluating the new Sentinel 3-based ForWarn disturbance maps, and assessing the representativeness of the existing Experimental Forest Network through network analysis. Alyson holds an MS in Ecology from Montana State University, and a BS in Ecology and Environmental Science from the University of Maine. Her previous research has included applications of Satellite LiDAR in the South American Tropics, land use change in the Western US, and species distribution modeling in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
