Biography of Nick Gould
Nick Gould joined the Threat Center's Asheville group as an ORISE (Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education) Postdoctoral Research Fellow in 2021. Nick’s background places strong emphasis on question-driven research that applies quantitative methods in ecology in order to understand processes and find solutions to conservation and management challenges. Nick's Threat Center research combines landscape ecology and decision science to foster understanding of forest sustainability and the development of tools to aid forest management decisions across the Southern Region. Nick holds a PhD in Wildlife Biology from North Carolina State University, an MS in Wildlife Biology from Colorado State University, and a BA in Natural Resource Management and Policy from the University of Massachusetts. His previous research includes investigating the ecology of American black bears in urban environments and island fox demography on the Channel Islands.
