Biography of Erin Crockett
Erin Crockett joined the Eastern Threat Center as an ORISE (Oak Ridge Institute of Science and Education) Postdoctoral Research Fellow in 2021. Overall, his research has examined how biodiversity and ecosystem services are changing over time, the relationships between biodiversity and ecosystem functioning, and spatial planning techniques to create landscapes where both people and nature thrive. His current work embraces satellite and field-based measurements to assess the roles of structural and biological diversity for productivity and carbon cycling in forest ecosystems, both in terms of the magnitude of production and the resilience over time. Erin holds a PhD in natural resource sciences from McGill University, an MSc in biodiversity conservation and management from the University of Oxford, and a BSc in environmental sciences from the University of British Columbia.
