Eastern Threat Center Teams Honored
Two Eastern Threat Center teams received 2013 Southern Research Station (SRS) Director’s Awards.
• The ForWarn team received the Partnership Award for "outstanding collaborative work across government agencies in the development of an effective forest disturbance monitoring tool useful at the National level." ForWarn is the result of an ongoing collaboration among the Eastern and Western Threat Centers, NASA Stennis Space Center, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USGS EROS Center, and University of North Carolina Asheville's National Environmental Modeling and Analysis Center.
• The TACCIMO team received the Science Delivery award for "exemplary service in providing advanced scientific knowledge to land managers through a user-friendly, online information system." Through peer-reviewed literature, mapping tools, and custom report generators, TACCIMO connects users with climate change science they can trust.
SRS Director Rob Doudrick presented the awards during a ceremony on December 11. Congratulations to all the award winners!
