The Nature Conservancy Climate Wizard Powers TACCIMO
Putting a robust inventory of climate model projections at the fingertips of users

taccimo_tavg2050_hadcm3a2.pngThe Eastern Forest Environmental Threat Assessment Center partnered with The Nature Conservancy through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that will put one of the largest portfolios of national downscaled climate data, the Climate Wizard, at the fingertips of natural resource planners and managers. The three-phase, three-year MOU will significantly expand the climate data offerings available through the Template for Assessing Climate Change Impacts and Management Options (TACCIMO). The Climate Wizard is using TACCIMO as a model technology partnership that will make climate data more available to natural resource planners and managers in a familiar context. In the second phase of the MOU, TACCIMO developers plan to create visualization and report generation capabilities that will assist users with selecting and understanding the extensive portfolio. The third and final phase, which is proceeding in parallel with the second phase, will enable the Climate Wizard to run ecosystem models available in TACCIMO, allowing users to examine and evaluate model results with common climate data inputs.
